ABOUT THE SPA
Sky Resort Spa Pulau Bulan is the premier wellness facility of the JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo, the tallest building in Hokkaido. Opened in 2003 and meticulously maintained, the spa utilizes natural hot spring water that surfaced during the construction of the tower. This creates a unique "Sky Resort" experience where the ancient Earth-heated waters of Hokkaido meet modern high-rise luxury.
In 2026, the spa remains a strictly adults-only (18+) sanctuary, preserving a peaceful environment for deep relaxation. The facility is divided into gender-separated wings, each featuring a large natural hot spring bath, a Jacuzzi, a cold plunge, and various saunas. For 2026, the spa has introduced the "Hokkaido Recovery Menu" at its internal café, featuring seasonal local appetizers like smoked salmon and prosciutto paired with draft Sapporo Beer, specifically designed to be enjoyed while watching the sunset over the city.
A standout feature is the aesthetic salon, which offers specialized body scrubs and oil treatments that can be bundled with a bathing ticket. The spa is remarkably accessible for international travelers, directly connected to the East Wicket of JR Sapporo Station. All amenities—including high-quality towels, skincare products, and spa robes—are provided, allowing guests to visit "empty-handed" after a day of skiing or shopping.
The staff are masters of "Sky-high Hospitality," ensuring that every guest feels like a VIP from the moment they check in at the 22nd-floor reception. With its combination of subterranean mineral wealth and celestial views, Pulau Bulan remains the definitive choice for a luxurious, elevated "onsen" experience in the North.

Panoramic and Urban-Oasis
The spa is truly panoramic, offering a breathtaking 22nd-floor vantage point that stretches across the Ishikari Plain to the distant mountains. Whether you are soaking in the hot spring or relaxing in the lounge, the vast Hokkaido sky feels within arm's reach. The design prioritizes these views, with large windows integrated into the bathing areas so that the city’s glittering nightscape or the serene morning snow becomes a central part of the healing ritual.
As an urban-oasis, Pulau Bulan (Indonesian for "Island of the Moon") provides a startling contrast to the bustling JR Sapporo Station directly beneath it. It serves as a sophisticated refuge for business travelers and weary sightseers, offering a silent, climate-controlled environment that feels entirely detached from the transit hub below. The "Island of the Moon" theme is reflected in the soft, atmospheric lighting and the calm, respectful conduct of the guests, creating a pocket of tranquility in the heart of Hokkaido's capital.
