“Me Time” Spa is the current spa at Shawandha Costa Rica, an eco-hotel near Playa Chiquita on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast. The operator describes the spa as being set within tropical rainforest, where treatments are accompanied by the surrounding jungle soundscape. The hotel is in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, Limón, and publishes +506 2750 0018 and [email protected] for general contact.

The current official menu includes relaxing massage, deep-tissue massage, hot-stone massage, bamboo massage and a therapeutic massage focused on the back or legs. It also lists body treatments using chocolate, coffee or a moisturising combination with aloe vera and cucumber. The website more broadly refers to relaxing, Ayurvedic and exfoliating treatments. Exact availability should be confirmed because the menu and therapist schedule may change.

The reviewed menu lists 60- and 90-minute options for several massages, with prices in US dollars. It states that 13 percent tax is not included and advertises a 10 percent discount for couples’ massages. These figures are a dated reference, not a price guarantee. Confirm the final total, tax, treatment duration, whether both guests are treated simultaneously and the cancellation conditions in the WhatsApp booking confirmation.

The spa page directs guests to reserve by WhatsApp. Arrive with enough time for consultation and to clarify pressure preference, areas to avoid and product sensitivities. Tell the therapist about pregnancy, allergies, recent surgery, injuries, skin conditions and any issue affected by pressure, heat or exfoliation. Descriptions such as therapeutic, circulation or detoxification are operator language and should not be read as a medical diagnosis or assured health outcome.

Shawandha also advertises a day pass for couples and families. The official list includes the restaurant, pools, “Me Time” Spa, relaxation zone, the large ceiba tree and private parking. The operator asks visitors to obtain conditions from reception. Do not assume a treatment automatically includes a day pass, pool access, food or hotel facilities; ask what is included and whether advance reservation is required.

The hotel says it was founded in 1993 and describes an architectural approach using hardwoods, bamboo and palm in a five-acre forest setting. Its environmental commitments include habitat conservation, local materials and labour, supply-chain oversight and resource and waste management. These are the operator’s stated policies; this profile does not independently certify environmental performance.

The reviewed materials do not give a complete accessibility specification for the jungle spa. Paths, gradients, wet surfaces, treatment-table access and weather conditions may be important. Guests needing step-free access, mobility support, an accessible toilet, a companion or sensory accommodation should ask reception for precise current details before travelling. Tropical conditions also make insect protection and suitable footwear practical planning considerations.

The retained photograph appears to show Shawandha’s distinctive lodge accommodation and forest setting, but it is contextual property imagery rather than a verified spa interior. It remains as a legacy archive image with unverified rights metadata. Five more current, rights-cleared images are still required, ideally showing spa entrance, treatment area, consultation setup, day-pass context and access route. Review-platform and official-site photographs were not copied. Information was checked on 15 August 2026.
