Playa Negra Guesthouse – Massage Service

Playa Negra Guesthouse is a small beach hotel at Playa Negra in Cahuita, Costa Rica. The inherited profile incorrectly placed it in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. The official property site, current booking listings and Google hotel record all place the guesthouse in Cahuita, close to the black-sand beach and Cahuita National Park.

The property consists of rooms and cottages set in a tropical garden with an outdoor swimming pool. The official site emphasises accommodation, personalised hospitality, parking, Wi-Fi, laundry, pool and garden rather than a dedicated spa department. A current Hotels.com listing says guests can arrange massage or a spa session, but no official treatment menu or named spa facility was found.

This distinction matters. The evidence supports massage availability at or through the guesthouse, not a full wellness resort with treatment suites, sauna, steam room or hydrotherapy circuit. Those facilities should not be inferred from the award label. Ask whether massage is delivered in a dedicated room, a guest room, a cottage, outdoors or by a visiting practitioner.

The official contact shown on the property site is +506 2755 0127 and [email protected]. A current Google hotel listing gives a different mobile number, +506 8556 2870. Contact the property directly and request written confirmation of the correct number, treatment provider and meeting point before arrival.

Before reserving massage, obtain the treatment name, duration, price in Costa Rican colones or US dollars, therapist name, credentials, products used, deposit and cancellation terms. Confirm whether the service is available every day, whether it must be booked before check-in and whether it is limited to resident guests. If an outside therapist is used, ask who is responsible for the booking, payment, hygiene and complaint process.

The outdoor pool is a hotel amenity rather than proof of a spa circuit. Ask about pool hours, supervision, towels, accessibility and any rules for children. The nearby Caribbean beach has changing conditions; guests should follow local safety advice and not treat ocean swimming as part of a supervised wellness programme.

Disclose pregnancy, recent surgery, injury, allergies, skin conditions, medications and any issue affected by pressure or oils. Massage does not diagnose or treat medical problems. Seek appropriate care for acute pain, fever, infection or neurological symptoms and stop a session whenever uncomfortable.

The property's accessibility is described only at a high level in a Google listing. Garden paths, cottage entrances, pool access and any massage setting may differ. Confirm surfaces, steps, door widths, toilet access, treatment-table height and the route from parking or drop-off.

Travel logistics also matter on the Caribbean coast. Confirm check-in time, airport or local transfer pricing, night-time arrival instructions, parking security and whether reception remains staffed for a late appointment.

The inherited aerial image appears to depict the guesthouse's lush garden and swimming pool and is coherent with current property photography. It does not show a massage treatment and lacks photographer credit, capture date and a documented reuse licence. It is retained as one legacy property-context image. Five additional current, rights-cleared images remain required.
