Baan Thai Massage Centre Rome

Baan Thai is an established Thai massage centre in Rome’s Borgo district, close to St Peter’s and the Vatican. The business says it opened in 2003 and describes its interior as an authentic Thai house reconstructed inside a central Roman building. That history and setting distinguish the centre from a hotel spa or a large thermal complex: the emphasis is on hands-on Thai and oriental massage in a dedicated urban venue.

The current official menu centres on traditional Nuat Thai, Thai massage with oil, Thai massage performed with the feet, plantar reflexology and couples massage. Baan Thai also mentions treatments using herbs. The centre’s own descriptions use traditional wellness language; those statements should be understood as the business’s account of its practice, not as independent evidence that massage diagnoses, cures or prevents a medical condition.

Traditional Nuat Thai is presented as a firmer treatment combining palm, finger, elbow and foot pressure with assisted stretching. It is performed on a floor mat, and the centre says light clothing is supplied. The official page recommends allowing enough time for the sequence and publishes several duration choices. Guests should choose pressure and range of movement according to comfort rather than assume that a vigorous session is appropriate for everyone.

The oil treatment uses gentler pressure and is normally carried out with sweet-almond oil; the centre says coconut or sesame oil may be used in warmer weather. Because nuts, sesame, fragrance and other cosmetic ingredients can matter for allergies or sensitive skin, ask which exact product will be used before the appointment. Confirm draping, clothing and whether the treatment will be on a table or a floor mat. The couples format is performed by two practitioners in one room, so both guests should separately agree their preferences and boundaries.

Before booking, disclose pregnancy, recent surgery, acute injury, unexplained pain, reduced sensation, cardiovascular concerns and any area that should not be touched or stretched. Ask whether the practitioner and treatment format are appropriate for the disclosed circumstances. Stop the session for unexpected pain, numbness, dizziness, breathing difficulty or distress. Massage can be chosen for relaxation and comfort, but it should not replace diagnosis, rehabilitation or treatment from an appropriately regulated health professional.

The official booking page warns that not every massage or preferred practitioner is available at every time, so telephone confirmation is sensible even when using the online calendar. Confirm the treatment name, duration, total price, payment method, cancellation terms and arrival time. Prices shown on individual pages may change and should be reconfirmed rather than treated as a permanent directory promise. The current contact page lists Borgo Angelico 22a/b, telephone 06 45444591, mobile and WhatsApp 351 5206188, and [email protected].

The official site describes a large relaxation area where guests may have tea or herbal infusions and use Wi-Fi before or after treatment. It does not provide a complete accessibility statement, measurements, step-free route, accessible toilet details or information about adjustable treatment surfaces. Anyone with mobility, vision, hearing, sensory or communication requirements should ask about the entrance, internal steps, floor-mat alternatives, seating, toilet access and staff assistance before reserving.

The retained legacy photograph is a close crop of an oil massage and cannot independently verify the present rooms, practitioner, date or image rights. It remains as historical treatment context only. Five additional current, rights-cleared photographs are still required: exterior and wayfinding, reception, treatment room, relaxation area and an accessible route or alternative treatment setup. No images were copied from Baan Thai, Google, Tripadvisor, social media or booking platforms. Information was checked on 15 August 2026.

Baan Thai is at Borgo Angelico 22a/b, near the Vatican, rather than the two obsolete addresses inherited by this directory. The centre currently says it opens daily from 11:00 to 20:00. Confirm the chosen treatment, practitioner availability, duration, price and any health or accessibility requirements directly before travelling.
