Aman Spa at Amangiri

Imagine stepping into a hidden sanctuary carved from the desert itself, this is the experience that begins when you enter Aman Spa at Amangiri. Situated within the ultra‑luxury Amangiri resort in southern Utah’s remote Canyon Point, the spa transcends typical notions of wellness, offering a deeply transformative journey that marries architectural minimalism with the stark beauty of the desert landscape. Designed as a series of concrete pavilions that echo the expansive terrain, it feels less like a spa and more like a quiet observatory for the soul.

Covering approximately 25,000 ft², the spa offers an atmospheric yet seamlessly integrated approach to wellness. Treatments reflect the environment: the Utah Salt & Clay Ritual harnesses local bentonite clay and sea salt, infused with mountain arnica or prickly pear aromas; Ayurvedic Shirodhara focuses on pouring warm oil in rhythmic flow; cryotherapy-infused massages combine cutting-edge techniques with ancient healing. The Aman Essentials skincare line, rich in amethyst, jade, and alkalizing spring water, is used across services, including Rejuvenation facials and quartz-enhanced therapies.

Guests aren’t confined within walls. Outdoor wellness experiences are central: Tower Butte Yoga in the sky via helicopter, guided desert fitness programs, and self-led hikes among dramatic rock formations and slot canyons enrich the spa journey. For indoor rejuvenation, the spa’s Water Pavilion features saunas, steam rooms, and a cold plunge pool, ideal for resetting after desert excursions.

In 2023 and again in 2025, Aman Spa at Amangiri was named “World’s Best Desert Spa” by the World Spa Awards, a testament to its leadership in destination wellness. It’s also featured in Vogue’s Global Spa Guide within the top 100 spas worldwide, described as “futuristic” and “once-in-a-lifetime”.

The overall design philosophy, Brutalist minimalism with a soul, serves as a backdrop for deep stillness. From treatment rooms overlooking desert vistas to thermal pools under the open sky, Aman Spa at Amangiri offers not just luxury care, but a gateway to elemental restoration. It’s a place where each breath is part of a greater narrative: earth, architecture, and inner sanctuary.
